Deepak Gopalakrishnan is an independent content and marketing strategist. He has close to 15 years’ experience working in various digital marketing, strategy and content roles, being associated with Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, OML Entertainment and PaytmInsider. Currently, he runs a boutique consultancy called Rough Paper along with his wife which offers consulting and content services to a variety of companies, including TCS, TCS Research, OML Entertainment, CARS24, IIT-Madras, the Aditya Birla Group, WealthCafe, Spectal Management, Cult.Fit, Spotify, Hyperlink, and more.
He has taught digital marketing since 2014 at various institutes including FLAME, GIM, TAPMI, IIM-A, NMIMS and SIMC. He has run his own online digital marketing course for working professionals from 2020-2022. He has various content projects of his own such as podcasts (Simblified, The Origin of things) and a newsletter (Things of Internet), which adds to his perspective on the changing media landscape. He has bylines in several publications for topics related to marketing, popular culture, music, and more. He has varied interests including trekking, cycling, progressive rock music, scuba diving and reading about the changing nature of content.
