FLAME Artist Residency is an earnest endeavor to create conversations around art and generate insights into the process of art making for our students and colleagues. The inaugural edition scheduled to be held on campus from Jan 8-29, 2017 features two young artists, Garima Gupta (Bengaluru) and Roshan Chhabria (Baroda) selected by a committee of experts through a rigorous process. The residency will involve discussions, student interactions, artist presentations, guest talks, open studio and culminate with an exhibition of art work produced during the period of their stay. FABRIC is the chosen theme for the inaugural edition of FLAME Artists’ Residency. The artists could address issues of identity, caste, class, politics, representation, history, labour amidst other things through art created during the residency.
