Gig Economy Around The World

How do the experience of platforms workers compare among Argentina, Netherlands and India? How many gig workers rely on several applications to generate income? What is the median monthly wage in each platform?

The purpose of the event “Gig Economy Around The World “ is to share unique insights based on survey results, labour law comparison and collection of good practices from an ongoing large-scale study on platform workers conducted by WageIndicator Foundation.

The event is meant to engage policy makers and labor organizers to academics and activists, in order to discuss the working conditions of platform workers in six different countries around the world (Argentina, India, Netherlands, South Africa, Spain and UK).

On the basis of the survey data, the following information will be proposed and debated during the event: analysis of local regulations, collection of the best practices, policy recommendations, and an overview of trade unions and other actors who are intended to improve working conditions of gig workers.
