FLAME Upskill is a series of exclusive workshops for high school students on interdisciplinary topics from various fields spanning humanities, sciences, artificial intelligence, communication, sports and arts amongst others. The series will focus on helping high school students develop crucial skills necessary for a journey of lifelong learning. The series has been conceptualized as a reflection of the liberal education ethos practiced and delivered at FLAME University. Attendees will receive a Letter of Participation in appreciation for their efforts during the workshop. These workshops will be conducted for a limited number of participants and selection will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis. |

For the second workshop, we bring to you: UNDERSTANDING SETTING AND WRITING WITH ONE HAND TIED BEHIND YOUR BACK Saturday, 31st October, 2020 | 04.00 pm to 05.30 pm Over the course of this workshop, we will consider: The workshop will help participants look at the role of Setting and how to free their minds (and their pens) to build worlds as a writer - whether it is storytelling in fiction or non-fiction. SPEAKER Prof. Michael Burns | Ph.D. - Documentary Film History, University of Birmingham, UK; Assistant Professor - Academic Writing, FLAME University Prof. Michael Burns completed his doctorate degree in Documentary Film History from the University of Birmingham, UK. He is an author, award-winning filmmaker and writing coach. He's also the founder of Tall Tales, South Asia's most popular creative writing workshop series, online at talltales.in. In his classes and seminars, he shares his observations on story structure, writing best practices, editing strategies, and professional communication details that he's developed over the past two decades.
