Abstract:
The development sector complements national and international efforts for addressing a wide range of well-being concerns by providing support as well as filling knowledge gaps while working at international, national and sub-national levels. The sector is an important collaborator for joint action on issues ranging from household-level concerns such as poverty and health to overarching global priorities such as refugee crisis and climate change. This presentation provides an overview of intricacies associated with measuring impact and creating learnings from the program implementation at three different levels viz. sub-national (or local), national and international. By means of on the ground implementation experience of health interventions, rural development and climate change programs, the presentation outlines the wide canvas for learning and engagement on factors that constitute the core of the development sector and highlights the ground level challenges and the measures of mitigating them.
