Technology makes our world go round. Everything in our lives is facilitated by some form of technology or the other. From the moment we wake, to the moment we sleep, every activity that we embark on makes use of technology – from where we live, to what we eat, to how we travel, to even how we have fun and entertain ourselves. Technology is powerful and omnipresent in our lives, now more than ever before. It has made our lives more convenient and efficient, helping us achieve great things, which were earlier thought of as impossible! Through this session, we aim to make you think critically about all the different technologies we currently rely on today and what we might come to rely on in the near, possible future. Further, we will discuss how your technological choices – what you may create and what you use – are also ethical choices and that there is always some kind of a trade-off in accepting the ‘bigger, better, faster’ temptation that technology presents to us. And, that it is up to us to be discerning, well-informed creators and consumers of technologies which form an integral part of our everyday lives.
