Dr. Sharon Barnhardt, Director of the Centre for Experimental Social Sciences (CESS) Nuffield – FLAME University, was invited to teach a session in the CLEAR South Asia’s Executive Education course in New Delhi. CLEAR South Asia is the World Bank’s regional Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Results.
This annual 5-day course was run by MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, commonly known as J-PAL. Dr. Barnhardt’s session was titled “Why Randomize” and focused on the use of randomization techniques in the context of evaluating social and government programmes. Attendees spanned a range of industries including government, corporate social responsibility, non-governmental organizations, and academia.
