Yale University delegates, Dean Jane Edwards - Dean of International and Professional Experience and Senior Associate Dean, and Ms. Ann Kuhlman, Director of Office of International Students & Scholars visited the FLAME campus on Monday, 3rd April, 2017.
During their visit, they met and interacted with the senior members of the FLAME leadership team to understand the core values and vision of FLAME and to discuss how to deepen Yale’s association with FLAME.
They started their visit with a campus tour with some FLAME University students. They got an overview of the infrastructure and facilities provided to the students and staff.
The day proceeded with meetings with faculty members from various academic departments. This gave them an understanding of FLAME University’s unique undergraduate program. Details of courses, its delivery mechanism and pedagogy was discussed. They deliberated avenues of faculty exchange between the two institutes.
Meetings with faculty was followed by interactions with FLAME University students. Students with very diverse major minor combinations from Environmental Studies, Literary and Cultural Studies, International Studies, Economics, Psychology to Finance, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship, amongst others met with the Yale delegates. Questions regarding why they chose FLAME University, their expectations from FLAME, what they would do after they graduated, what is FLAME’s unique proposition and what were their thoughts on the opportunities for global exposure provided by FLAME were discussed in depth.
The delegates also met with FLAME students who will be attending the 2017 summer session at YALE. They answered all their queries like the living experience at Yale, induction and orientation, courses they will be taking at Yale, other students from across the globe attending the Yale summer session and what to experience in New Haven.
Their visit concluded with a presentation on FLAME University’s flagship Discover India Program. There was mutual appreciation and agreement to create different pathways on how Yale and FLAME can work together.
