PUNE: A scholar on cognitive basis of high-performance entrepreneurship, Saras Sarasvathy will be conducting a workshop at the Centre for Entrepreneurship Innovation at FLAME University . The workshop will be held on August 1 and 2 and it will be attended by students, entrepreneurs, educators and faculty. A statement issued by the university said that, apart from being a Paul Hammaker professor at the University of Virginia's Darden School, Sarasvathy also holds the Jamuna Raghavan Chair in Entrepreneurship at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
The topic of the workshop will be: effectuation -- lessons from expert entrepreneurs. Saravathy has won many awards which includes a recent one from the Academy of Managaemnet , the Foundation Paper award from Entrepreneurship Division and also the American Marketing Association. The Babson College has also recognised her contributions to entrepreneurship education with an honorary doctorate.
Sarasvathy received her Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University. Her thesis was supervised by Herbert Simon, 1978 Nobel Laureate in Economics. The recently launched innovation centre at FLAME was established with an aim to give entrepreneurs the knowledge and networking platform to take their startups to the next level with the support of partners, mentors and advisors with industry experience and expertise, the statement added.
