With the advent of the digital revolution, computer science is inarguably one of the most important fields today with applications ranging across a wide spectrum of activities. The rise and success of computer science and technology has engendered the Data revolution that requires advanced mathematical and computational skills for its analysis and application to drive efficiencies and affect change.
Words like Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Social Media, FinTech, Self-Driving Vehicles have become part of common vocabulary. It is no surprise that the demand for computer and data scientists is not keeping pace with the supply, and given its potential, will be so for many years to come.
One can see its application in not only conventional areas but across sectors as diverse as Finance and Insurance, Transportation, Security, Healthcare, Agriculture, Drug Discovery to name a few.
