Imagine being in the same room as some of the most influential leaders of our time. For FLAME University students, this became a reality at CNBC's Global Leadership Summit. A place where every conversation sparked inspiration and opened up exciting possibilities.
On the occasion of CNBC’s 25th Anniversary, a Global Leadership Summit was organized at the Jio World Convention Center in BKC, Mumbai, to reflect on the future of India’s biggest industries. The event was a platform to chart the future of these industries and lay down an economic roadmap for the years to come. Students of FLAME University from various disciplines had the exemplary opportunity to attend this summit, finding their place among distinguished industry leaders and visionaries of the nation.
Undergraduate student Basamma Biradar offers a thoughtful reflection:
"Attending the CNBC TV18 Global Leadership Summit in Mumbai was an incredibly valuable experience for me as a student. Being part of this prestigious event allowed me to hear firsthand from influential leaders like Piyush Goyal, the Commerce Minister, about India’s competitive edge in global markets and the strategic decisions businesses must make to grow in such a rapidly changing world.
N.R. Narayana Murthy’s insights on India’s growth and the challenges ahead were particularly impactful, sparking thoughts on how young professionals like me can contribute to the nation’s development.
Shaktikanta Das, Sajjan Jindal, and Ramesh Damani's discussions highlighted India’s future potential and encouraged us to consider innovation, leadership, and sustainable growth.
As someone passionate about finance, the summit helped me better understand India’s economic landscape.”
The summit hosted some of the biggest names of various industries such as Mr. Leo Varadkar, Former Taoiseach (Prime Minister), Republic of Ireland; Dr. C. Rangarajan, Former Governor, Reserve Bank of India; Mr. Rishad Premji, Executive Chairman, Wipro; Mr. Deepak Parekh, Former Chairman, HDFC; Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman & Managing Director, JSW Group; Mr. Parikshit Luthra, Editor & Bureau Chief, CNBC TV18; Ms. Shereen Bhan, Managing Editor, CNBC TV18; Mr. Prashant Nair, Editor, CNBC TV18; Ms. Surabhi Upadhyay, News Anchor, CNBC TV18; and Mr. Nigel D’Souza, News Anchor, CNBC TV18, among others.

"Attending the summit was a truly enriching experience. Interacting with such distinguished leaders and exchanging ideas was an invaluable opportunity. The insights shared, which draw from the rich experiences and knowledge of the speakers, offered a unique connection between our academic learning and their professional expertise. The diversity of perspectives that we came across were a delight for any learner."
Interdisciplinary education flourishes when learners integrate knowledge from multiple fields. By connecting classroom concepts to real-world scenarios, students move beyond theoretical understanding to focus on practical application, critical discussion, and meaningful reform. Events like the CNBC Global Leadership Summit provide an ideal platform for this integration, elevating the impact of academic learning by adding depth, prestige, and enduring value to the overall experience.
Reflecting on his experiences, Undergraduate student, Manav Samdariya shares:
“We had the privilege of personally meeting distinguished individuals such as Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman of JSW Group, Mr. Deepak Parekh, Former Chairman of HDFC, Mr. Rishad Premji, Executive Chairman of Wipro, and many other esteemed personalities. Additionally, we had the opportunity to engage in conversations with senior journalists from CNBC-TV18. The thought-provoking conversations provided invaluable insights that will undoubtedly stay with me."
The Global Leadership Summit brought together policymakers, global leaders, and eminent personalities to discuss the growth and power of the Indian economy and the business landscape.
Such experiences bridge the gap between theory and practice, enabling students to view their coursework through the lens of real-world application, hearing from the speakers themselves. Undergraduate student, Suneelesh Batabyal recalls being fascinated by the alignment of their courses and real-world strategies:
“The time of the summit was also when we were working on an assignment to predict and analyze the strategies of the Reserve Bank of India in the upcoming financial year. As we heard Mr. Shaktikanta Das, Former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, share his insights directly with the audience– it was almost instinctive to compare it to the work we had done in class. It was an exciting experience. What we were learning was becoming a part of our real world.”
Whether it is building the foundation of their careers, absorbing knowledge from industry leaders, or diving into the depths of research and innovation, students at FLAME are surrounded by a diversity of opportunities and people that help them grow. Platforms like the CNBC Global Leadership Summit are a true reflection of cutting-edge knowledge and its adoption in this fast-paced world.
