The Indian Health Economics and Policy Association is organizing its 11th Annual Conference in collaboration with the FLAME University (Pune) from January 17–19, 2024. The conference seeks to address the ever-evolving landscape of health research and policymaking in the context of today’s complex global health challenges. In recent times, there has been a remarkable surge in interest in health research and policy as the world strives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for good health and well-being. This conference serves as a timely and essential platform for bringing together experts, scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from diverse disciplines to collaborate on research, address new concerns, and build creative solutions in the area of health policy.
The conference provides a comprehensive forum for delving into several crucial health concerns that require immediate attention. Morbidity and mortality remain essential indices of health system performance and societal well-being. To make meaningful progress in these areas, it is critical to prioritize health care and implement evidence-based policies and programs that address the underlying determinants. Nutrition is another critical concern that has far-reaching ramifications for well-being and societal advancement. The conference will address contemporary and underserved nutrition issues, including micronutrient deficiencies, and deliberate on solutions to improve nutrition for vulnerable communities.
Significant advances in data science and data innovations mark the contemporary global landscape for health policy research. There is all-around recognition that data analytics, machine learning, and geospatial analytics have huge potential for delivering actionable insights to drive policy decisions and optimize healthcare delivery. As we go deeper into the frontiers of health research, it is critical that our policies are evidence-based and are communicated well to stakeholders.
The conference will emphasize the importance of collaborative and inclusive policymaking. It will foster an interdisciplinary dialogue, recognizing that tackling global health challenges necessitates contributions from diverse fields, including medicine, public health, social sciences, data science, and economics. By encouraging such interdisciplinary collaboration, the conference seeks to explore comprehensive solutions that holistically address the multifaceted determinants of health and well-being.
Overall, the conference aims to create a shared platform for critical reflection, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, empowering participants to forge evidence-based policies that not only address current health challenges but also contribute to the creation of healthier, more resilient, and more equitable societies for generations to come.
