Creativity and Innovation
The course will encourage students to understand the process of transforming creative ideas into final product or services. Process of innovation involves a step-by-step mechanism to generate creative ideas and manifest them into desired output. The course will help students to understand the journey of creative and innovative ideas from MIND TO MARKET.
This course deals with understanding major creative challenges in the industry and techniques of creative thinking process, analysis for resolving the issue(s), generating creative solutions and the process of transforming ideas into final output.
Identifying and Evaluating Business Opportunities
Entrepreneurship is all about ‘Opportunity’. We are all surrounded by opportunities. But they exist only if you are able to spot, recognize and shape them. Would be entrepreneurs often have two things on their minds: “How do I come up with a good business idea?” and “How can convert this idea into a business opportunity?”
Entrepreneurs creating new ventures either within an existing organization or a stand- alone venture, need to assess the nature of the opportunity so that they can build a successful business model. Existing companies continuously look for the next big thing and keep scanning the environment in search of new opportunities.
This course focuses on generating ideas and then converting these ideas into business opportunities.
This course also tries to develop skills in students to generate business ideas, help them to convert ideas into opportunities, equip them with the process of evaluating business opportunities and help them to analyses business models.
Entrepreneurial Marketing
The objectives of this course are to acquaint future entrepreneurs with brand building techniques, innovative marketing strategies and to equip them with skills and practice to be able to use it effectively in marketing their start-up. This course aims to provide would-be entrepreneurs with skills and tools to effectively market their businesses (and ideas) to all the stake holders. It aims to give them the nearest simulation to the process and rigour of building and managing a successful brand. In this course they will undergo the whole process from identifying an opportunity in a segment, to pitching the idea to investors and employees, to naming and developing a brand, to creating low budget marketing plan.
Business Plan Development
This course aims to provide a detailed outline of the key elements of a strong business plan. Help students plan the business research, analysis and strategy formulation steps necessary to prepare a new business plan for an existing company, outline, draft and write a business plan based on a new business concept and finally prepare and present a venture presentation based on a new business concept.
Entrepreneurial Finance
This course tries to examine factors affecting a financing decision, how they are evaluated and how different attending factors are weighted. Help students understand issues relating to raising seed capital, working capital short term and long term financing options, valuing firms and conducting financial analysis. It also teaches them to appreciate the difference between venture capital, private equity and traditional financing options and examining Public finance (IPO) and listed security options.
Family Business Management
The objectives of this course are to understand the inception, evolution and transformation in the nature of family business, to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the family businesses, to introduce leadership Styles of present Vs leadership styles of past – succession planning, to define new paradigms of family business – family management versus professional management and to pave a path for family business.
Social Entrepreneurship
This course tries to help students gain a composite view of the social enterprise and the needed institutional framework, develop their perception of the process of change and development linked with emerging environment, improve their ability to identify and prioritize the needs of different segments of communities and to analyze the problems of change and development which they are likely to face in future.
